Aviation, Air Travel and Airspace Management

Air transportation has become essential to economic development.

Fast, efficient, effective transportation is a necessity for a community to grow, to thrive, to attract business. Access to air transportation has become a box that must be checked on the list.

Here in the United States, we have an outstanding system of scheduled air travel available, if you live in a large city. If you don’t, you will have to drive a while to get to the airport. And either way, you’ll probably make a connection. Which adds a lot of time to the trip. Especially when you stop to consider how nice and fast nonstop flights are.

Air service in much of the rest of the world has not reached the level we’re accustomed to in the US. Many of the benefits we take for granted don’t exist. Flights aren’t available. Organized regulations and airspace control systems aren’t at the same level of operation and safety.  Sometimes even the electricity needed to run the system can’t be counted on.

The problems are more similar than different – without air service, it’s difficult to do business.  Air service brings important and timely delivery; air service brings interesting and knowledgeable people; air service brings economic development and growth.

WMS understands this very well, at all levels, and can help get to the next step – at whatever level that step is. Contact us at info@wmsaero.com.

Domestic Initiatives

Aviation has reached a crossroads as a mode of transportation. Formerly perceived as a luxury, air travel is now considered a necessity, and is marketed as a commodity. Airline companies are flying their jetliners in markets where they can operate full, and pricing to accomplish that goal. Company mergers are lowering competition and shrinking unique service patterns.

The trend of small markets being left out of the mix shows no sign of slowing, and while low prices and modern highway travel put air service within reach for many, the added complexity, lack of choices and longer travel time keep small markets at a disadvantage for travel convenience.

Here’s the rub – small markets today are more attractive than ever to business. The lower cost of living can be an advantage, and many communities have an available workforce ready and excited to work for a new entrant employer. Modern communications, with cell phones and the internet, remove another historical impediment for locating branches in rural or outlying locations.

WMS Aerospace can work with you to bring unique, usable air transportation to your community.  We recognize that every market is different, that current conditions dictate a new approach, and the airline model doesn’t work in these smaller markets. We will work with you to find a unique approach that provides a specific advantage over competitive travel modes, one that is great enough to attract a consistent, profitable revenue stream for the operator.

International Leadership and Guidance

At WMS Aerospace, we have a comprehensive background and understanding of aviation.  We understand how it contributes to economic development; we have experience in creating and operating successful air service; we know what is necessary to create an effective and efficient regulatory body for aviation. We have experience with new technology in air traffic management that provides a high level of information and safety for the aircraft that operate in that environment.

The United States has a great legacy of aviation development and implementation, which puts us in the enviable position of being able to provide the latest technology for aviation operation. Aviation has the benefit of being able to provide meaningful differences immediately, with a minimum of infrastructure development and investment needed. The needs of communities of all sizes can be addressed, as the service is eminently scalable. Air service brings people and goods together, creating new lines of communication, cementing relationships and building markets.

Air service can be implemented with a minimum of infrastructure, and in some cases, none at all. Amphibious aircraft, in use for decades in remote areas of the Americas, can operate using rivers and lakes as the landing strip. Networks of these aircraft can be implemented quickly, creating an immediate provisioning system aiding in the installation of critical infrastructure to support economic development. Trade routes can be established and nourished as the runways and airports are constructed for land-based aircraft that will be able to offer more lift, better speed and fuel efficiency.

New systems of Air Traffic Management are being implemented and adopted by American and European authorities. These new systems are based on GPS systems based in the aircraft and communicated to the air traffic controllers. The implementation costs for these systems are much less than the radar systems used up until now, and at the same time offer much greater precision and better information to both the pilots and controllers. Working with governments and authorities, WMS will be able to offer comprehensive guidance to bring local ATC systems up to world class standards, and help the overall aviation program of the country meet benchmarks for inclusion in the worldwide aviation system.

Our interest and experience in aviation inspires and drives us to create real, usable solutions for clients. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at info@wmsaero.com. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your dreams.
