Creative Economic Solutions

Economic issues are a universal concern, and WMS Aerospace has experience in successfully addressing and providing infrastructure and transportation solutions, both domestically and worldwide.

WMS Aerospace International, Inc. is already at the forefront of this movement, working in an emerging nation with the government and businesses to effectively engage and inspire the leaders and citizens to improve their economy, grow their gross national product, enhance their quality of life and command a regional and global leadership position.  We recognize this is a lofty and noble undertaking and it is being approached with the highest degree of respect and admiration for the country’s leadership and its people.

Whether we’re working with a small community to help secure useful and successful transportation to benefit the local economy, or with a country to bring the benefits of modern technology, infrastructure and air transportation to bear in addressing national concerns, our experience, intelligence and expertise assure results that meet or exceed expectations.

Domestic Approaches

Airlines in the air service network in the United States have concentrated air service in the larger markets, leaving smaller communities with fewer and less convenient choices for air travel.  WMS recognizes the value and importance of access to air travel for community growth, business success and economic development. We also recognize that the current, large community based airline business model does not work for the smaller communities, and other, creative solutions must be found.

Different communities have different needs and paths to success in finding air service that works. It’s important to remember two things:  One, the service must be profitable on its own. Thus, it must meet a need in the community at a sufficient level for that community to choose to use the service. Two, success requires that it be competitive with the service that is already available. It must cost the same, or be better and faster, or both.

Air service must effectively meet a need and do so in a way that makes the service definitively more valuable than the alternative. The airlines have brought the cost of flying down substantially, at the expense of convenience and time. To compete, small community air service must be more convenient and efficient for the target market.

Airlines are trying to be everything to everybody, but in lowering their prices they’ve diluted the value of their service. Air service in small markets cannot be everything to everybody. Focus on where the real customers are, meet their needs, and the service can succeed. That success will bring more business, economic growth, and the potential for more air service options to the community.

International Arrivals

Our relationships with worldwide leaders have led us to engage in far reaching approaches to issues surrounding international communities and countries, including infrastructure development, energy and clean water concerns, transportation, housing and education.

Aviation has gone through immeasurable changes over the scant century of its history. Technology, power, speed, capacity and range are all at levels that were inconceivable even 75 years ago. Yet, in the United States, our commercial air system and National Airspace System is still based on technology and procedures that date to the 1930′s – and earlier.  Implementing new, efficient technology in emerging countries will effectively “leapfrog” to today’s technology, enabling more efficient and safe systems to
be the initial installation.

Similar opportunities exist where existing infrastructure is absent. Renewable energy, communications, construction and transportation offer opportunities for modern options without the added cost of removing existing, old technology infrastructure.

Precedents are already seen. Cellular telephone systems are installed and functioning in emerging countries, and they have been embraced by the population. This technology has effectively taken personal communication in these countries from non-existent to the modern standard in less than ten years, and avoided the costs and difficulties of overcoming costly investments in outdated infrastructure.

Similar steps in power development and distribution, housing and roads are needed. The technology is available to put networks of energy- efficient and environmentally sound electrical generation in place, enabling countries to develop stable business environments. Road building technology, allowing efficient movement of goods and people through the country and to market, likewise has the benefit of increased efficiency and technology for implementation and benefit.  As these improvements take hold, allowing and encouraging the development of business communities and entrepreneurial activities, the demand for housing with modern amenities and abilities to take advantage of modern conveniences will grow.
